Some Great Places to eat in s.f.

Chef Nate Appleman and Master Sommelier Shelly Lindgren have created the epitome of a neighborhood trattoria. The food is paean to the cuisine of Campania and Naples Italy. Hand made pastas, thin crusts pizzas and house cured salumi are the staples, but the burrata mozzarella and the tripe are their specialties. Not to be missed. The wine list is is deep and wide, full of small Italian producers and interesting varietals. In spite of being packed nightly the service is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Bacar offers delicious, unpretentious and elegant northern california cuisine with a generous selection of wines in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Chef Robbie Lewis, formerly of Jardiniere, works closely with Bacar's sommeliers to create seasonal menus to compliment the restaurant's groundbreaking wine program. Against a brick and timber backdrop, Bacar's tri-level dining room is outfitted with an extraordinary three-story "Wine Wall," which exemplifies their dedication to wine, housing 1,200 wines by the bottle along with 65 wines-by-the-glass.
