Every 2nd Friday of the month at

Miss Pearl’s Jam House my

Band and I host a “Gumbo Jam”.


The way it works is while a pot of gumbo simmers at the front of the stage we play a raucous set of Bluesy R&B with a heaping side of of Funk, at the beginning of each song, a different member of the band or one of our guest musicians chooses from an assortment of ingredients surrounding the pot, It could be duck, smoked chicken, shrimp or maybe crab, then adds it to gumbo and stirs it up.

Then, after all of the musicians have put their little touch in the gumbo, we serve it up to the audience.


Then we party to we drop!


It’s a deliciously danceable

good time!

I host an exciting chef panel discussion with Bay Area celebrity chefs to discuss balancing authenticity and creativity when cooking ethnic food.

Guests include Aziza's Mourad Lahlou, Peter Levitt of Saul's Restaurant and Deli, Pizza Antica's Gordon Drysdale, Bistro Don Giovanni's Scott Warner, and E&O Trading Co.'s Arnold Wong. A foodie-fun-filled evening of culinary conversation and tastings!

I am returning to this world famous spa and resort in Tecate, Mexico from July 10 th through the 17th where I will be teaching 3 cooking classes at La Cocina que Canta, their incredible cooking school and organic gardens.


This is one of the most beautiful places I have had the opportunity to visit. Set on 365 acres of lush mountainous  dessert the resort offers an amazing program of fitness activities, delicious healthful cuisine, luxury spa amenities, superb accommodations and entertainment.


RLP is definitely my favorite place to teach cooking because the majority of the food we cook with comes straight from their 8 acres of organic gardens. Everything is seasonal and impeccable. And their staff are AMAZING!
